Bader Launches the Startup Challenge
The Startup Challenge
In collaboration with the World Bank, Bader Young Entrepreneurs Program is organizing The Startup Challenge, which allows young entrepreneurs with innovative ideas to start their entrepreneurial journey with the help of dedicated mentors and experts from various fields.
During Open Innovation Week Lebanon, on February 21-22 and in partnership with Altcity, BADER organized an Ideation Workshop which served as a platform for applicants to come up with ideas to face the biggest challenges in the country. After thorough observation and examination, 10 teams were chosen to take part in the competition.
The teams moving to the next round, benefited from a week of workshops and an all-day pitch training at BADER.
The 10 startups coming out of the first round of the Startup Challenge attended 3 workshops organized by BADER at Coworking+961, including Market Sizing & Competitive Analysis, Lean Startup & Business Model Canvas and more. Those workshops covered various topics aiming to help the newly formed startup teams develop their entrepreneurial ideas further.
The week was wrapped with a full day of pitch training on Saturday, during which the teams refined their public speaking skills and formed a concise and efficient pitch introducing their startup. After the training, the teams pitched their ideas in front of a jury who chose the 5 most innovative startups to qualify to the next round and access a 10-week mentorship program. The winning teams are:
Cookin tips – by Amer Kawarit, Saeed Eldah, Khaled Bakhit
LifeLab – by Ali Makhzoum
ModeoForm – by Emile Arayes, Aline Gemayel, Elsy Arayes
Spica Twins – by Reine Abbas, Joseph Saade, Ziad Feghali

The Mentorship Program
After identifying the different needs of each of the winning startups and setting their road-maps for the next 3 months, every team was assigned a dedicated mentor to guide them and follow up with them for this phase of the Startup Challenge. Bader will be overseeing the progress and interact regularly with both the mentors and the startups.
